Fashion Photography ethics

1. They fixed her hair, no fly aways. They made her neck longer and her face thinner and her lips fuller and her eyes bigger and her eyebrows higher.

2. I don't think it really matters as long as the person that they are using agrees to it. How other people feel about it is their problem.

3. Yes, it can hurt someones self esteem

4. the little flaws are ok, changing her face shape and stuff isn't. its too fake

5. Fashion photography is mainly just used for making things and people look picture perfect for business, to make profit.

6. All photography is a different perception of art in the persons eye.

Lytro Warm up

1. The photo moved around when you clicked on it, like it focussed more.

2. It takes a bunch of pictures at once ?

3. you have to know how to work these fancy cameras

4. If you're really into photography

Self Portrait

Tips :

1. Get Closer to the subject, if its too small it won't make an impact.

2. Setting in which you make your pictures is important because they help the viewer understand your subject better.

3. A self portrait doesn't have to be of your face.

I really like this self portrait because the subject is very pretty
and she has a very exotic appearance and her eyes were the
first things i noticed.

I like this self portrait because the fur coat caught my attention.
i like the colors and the winter feel.

I like this portrait because the ring is really pretty and
the background is nice.

I like this portrait because its funny and it shows
a very fun personality.

I really like this picture. I like the lighting and the
sun exposure. I also like her ear ring

I like this casual portrait because it gives you a
feel as if you were there with them.

My Self portrait will probably be of me of course. it will include my face because I'm conceded and i love talking pictures, I'm thinking about taking it outside maybe where theres good sunlight and maybe a nice green scenery. I want the picture to have good sun exposure and i want it to be bright.

American Soldier

1. picture 5 for me, because it shows that him and his dad are really close, and how its hard leaving your loved ones and going off to the army. Its especially hard for the parents seeing there kids go off.

b. It helps tell a little more of whats behind the reason of the photo being taken.

4.

a.

Image 79 : Ian & his girlfriend embrace each other passionately for the first time since he left Denver for the army. Very heart felt moment.

Image 82 : Ian & his soon to be wife, are making it official in the court room saying their vows as the judge marrys them.

Image 17 : Ian begins to realize its not a game, as the sergeant gets in his face. Very intense.

5.

a. it really explains everything in more detail, n how everyone took the fact that he was leaving to the army.

b. The first video where his parents were talking, it gave more of an explanation as to why it was really hard to leave his dad more then anything and the close bond that they had.

c. a picture says 1000 words.

Aperture, shutter speed

Questions:

1. The eyes

2. higher and smaller

3. The area of the image that appears sharp is the depth field. The size of the aperture has a big impact on the Depth of field. It blurs out the background and focuses on something in the photo.

Great Black and white photographers part 3

1.) What first caught your eye while looking at your photographers photos? Is there something in particular about their photos that made you want to choose them? That they have ocean, i feel like the ocean is a big place and for someone to capture it or somewhat of it. it makes it look little but in reality it is big.

Academic Shoot Reflection

1. The biggest challenge was finding all the rules in classrooms, because all the classrooms were pretty much the same.

2. I was mostly thinking on how to capture framing and how to angle my camera for different outcomes.

3. i would try to have different angles on how to take pictures.

4. i liked how some pictures were very good with simplicity

5. simplicity

6. Framing

7. Balance

africa mural

I really liked the powerpoint because the pictures were really nice and in a way relaxing.
There was a lot of pictures that i really liked, very creative and a lot of balance.

This picture is of a male rubbing his head against the female lion.
It also looks like he is staring at her intensely.
This one was my favorite picture because i find it really cute.
This photo looks like it follows simplicity maybe, because there isn't
much of a background so you solely focus on the two lions.

He went to Tanzania once for a music video and found it so moving he
really liked it and decided to go take pictures there, but its getting more difficult to take these pictures because every year there are fewer and fewer left.
He takes his photos with a  medium-format pentix 67.
He plans to release his third book of photography.

“It was so moving. I felt like I was watching these incredible creatures move across a landscape before man was around,”

Part 2

1. A theme we could do maybe is the six academies we have.

2. I think we could use camera phones but i would stick to the cameras we have here at school.

3. I would want to put it at the inside front entrance of the school up high.

Simplicity
All the background is mainly white so you really
focus on paul and the equation he's doing up on the board.

Rule of Thirds
Sergio is to the left of the photo so that makes it the rule
of thirds.

Lines
The metal attached to the chairs forms lines.

Framing
the wallpaper above and the 2 kids frame that asian kid in the
center of the picture.

Balance
This picture is an example of balance because
the background and everything balances the photo
out.

Avoiding Mergers
This picture is an example of avoiding mergers because
the kid to the right's body is caught off.

Filling the Frame

This colors in this picture are very balanced and warming.
The girls are doing a science project, and a chemical reaction
has occurred and it makes the photo look really cool with the
specs or water in the air. This is a really good shot.
This photo defiantly captures the eye.

Action or Emotion

This picture shows a lot of emotion simple by the facial expressions
and hand gestures. This is a goofy picture & everyone is smiling
having a good time. This picture looks like it was just taken for a class
or something, and it came out very well.

The Story

This picture tells the best story to me because it
seems like something has brought all of these people
together. Something or someone united all of
those kids, making this picture look empowering.
This picture reminds me of those movies where those
teachers help struggling students become better people, maybe
the story behind this picture is something like that.

40 most powerful photos

Rich Lam

I chose this picture because the lighting caught my
attention. My other main focus on the picture is the
couple kissing, i find this picture really cute. I dislike
the man that is in the shot because he is in the way.
but this shot is movie perfect.

Yuniko Nakao

I chose this picture because i am an animal lover and
i find this picture sad. i think that this picture
includes avoiding mergers, because the persons body is
cut out of the picture but it helps focus the shot on whats
important

Aaron Thompson

This Photo caught my attention because it focuses really
well and its shot at a very good angle. You can see theres
a lot of emotion and a story behind this picture.

9/11 Avoiding Mergers

Avoiding Mergers

This photo is an example of "Avoiding Mergers"
because in this photo it cuts people out of the shot,
so basically half of their body is in the picture which
is not good.

9/11 Frame

Framing

This picture is an example of "Framing"
because the 2 buildings on the left and the right
frame the building in the middle, focussing the
picture on that building.

9/11 Balance

Balance

This shot is an example of "Balance" Because
everything in the photo is balanced.
